Abandoned Railway

Trekking along the railway Rocchetta Sant'Antonio - Gioia del Colle already abandoned since many years. The last section of the route stopped working in 2016. The RFI (Rete Ferrovie Italiane) group in charge has launched a study to promote a project to recover and upgrade 140-kilometer of the railway. Nowadays the section from Palazzo San Gervasio to Venosa presents many interruptions that pushes walkers to cross enormous wheat fields for kilometers.
